Laura grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master's in Education from National-Louis University. She has visited some great places in the United States, but will always call St. Petersburg, Florida home.
Laura was with the Florida Holocaust Museum for over five years and had the opportunity to work with renowned historians, curators and dignitaries from all over the world. During her tenure at the Museum, she worked on her thesis Museums and Their Educational Responsibility: Creating Reliable Web Sites That Teach. This paper was central to her involvement and active role in teaching people about the Holocaust and Human Rights using technology and the Internet.
It was at the Florida Holocaust Museum that Laura was introduced to Bob Barancik, video producer and artist and founder of CreativeLedge Studio in 2004. That following year, Laura was invited to attend the Casco/Tampa Bay Creative Economy Weekend on Long Island, Maine. That weekend had a profound impact on Laura as she experienced and participated in open dialogue, discussing and analyzing pivotal events and current international affairs, and the affects they have on local economies and individuals’ lives. “We had an amazing assembly of people from all walks of life and all shared poignant views and we actually found solutions through this amazing, creative gathering.”
Prior to the Florida Holocaust Museum Laura worked for the Lighthouse of Pinellas at the Watson Center. Through a funded program she was able to teach blind and visually impaired individuals basic computer skills and Windows software through the aid of an adaptive program. She found this work to be extremely rewarding and gratifying.
Laura is currently available to provide consultation services, which include educational materials and lesson plans on Holocaust history, Human Rights or genocides. In addition, she is also well-versed in human resources, personnel law, engaging in organizational diversity programs and creating an understanding environment among coworkers and the community.
