Dr. Judith Alstadter is a concert pianist, music educator, lecturer, and recording artist. She has achieved recognition and praise for the beauty and virtuosity of her interpretations, as well as for the originality of her programs. She has concertized in the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. Her Linclon Center Series devoted to the complete works of Gabriel Faure heard for the first time in New York received wide acclaim for “complete keyboard command,” “color, imagination, and dramatic flair.” A subsequent Series at Carnegie Recital Hall featuring Romantic Women Composers was praised for its uniqueness and sensitivity.
Born in New York, Judith Alstadter is a graduate of the Juilliard School and received her Doctoral Degree from Yale University School of Music. She also studied in France.
A well-known music educator, she has been affiliated with several universities and colleges, including Pace University and Five Towns College in New York and Eckerd College Osher Life-long Learning Institute in Florida. She is a popular speaker, performer, coach, and workshop clinician for colleges and music organizations.
Judith Alstadter is an official Steinway Artist. She was honored by the French government for her contributions to French music in America with the medal of “Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters.”
Her recordings include: “Women Composers: Romantic to Ragtime,” “Vienna to Broadway,” “The Poetic Piano,” “Piano Music of Gabriel Faure,” and Mozart Piano Concerto no. 21.
Dr. Alstadter brings to her performances, lectures, and teaching the highest level of professionalism, broad knowledge, wide experience, as well as passion, enthusiasm, and personal charm.
Dr. Alstadter has performed and lectured widely on Florida’s west coast, including appearances at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, the Historic Asolo Theater in Sarasota, and the Performing Arts Center in Naples.
